*** THIS GIVEAWAY IS CLOSED NOW ***

(But the next one is here)

"Win LordM's Loot" Giveaway #1

Deadline for entries: Midnight Eastern US time, Sunday, June 30, 2019.

This will be a random drawing at the end of the month, using the random.org True Random Number Generator.

Winner will get his or her choice of one item from my "Pick Bin & Giveaway Goodies" page. (Give that link a moment to load.)

To enter:

(1) Please include the words "entry post" in your initial post to this thread - and only your first post. You may reply to this thread as many times as you like, but if you put the phrase "entry post" into more than one reply, you will disqualify yourself.

(2) In addition to the words "entry post", post something else that is coin-related in some way- whatever you like. This can be a question, observation, coin picture, story, or even a joke- as long as it is coin-related somehow.

(3) Please view the list of prizes and specify your first, second, and third choices, in order.

(4) You may edit your post to change your three prize picks at any time before the deadline, but remember, only one entry post per member, and one prize.

(5) There are no strings attached, and I pay shipping- worldwide- but if international shipping ever proves too costly on an item (or if all three of your prize picks are gone at the time of the drawing), I reserve the right to offer you a different prize or a PayPal gift instead.

Note that since the prizes are drawn from my swapstock, the list is subject to change throughout the month. Some items are subject to prior sale or trade. This is why I want you to list first, second, and third choices, and encourage you to periodically check the list for changes and new additions.

There will be more stuff added throughout the month, including some currency and ancient and/or medieval coins. As of this initial posting, the list is rather small, but it will likely grow. In fact, I just bought a couple of items that aren't listed yet.

Good luck! :)

I also run a monthly giveaway on CoinTalk (with other kind donor partners participating), so if you are a member over there, you are welcome to enter that giveaway as well. (We have some nice goodies, including two small gold coins this month.)

A young man walks into a singles bar with a roll of quarters taped inside the crotch of his jeans. He looks around, then sits next to the most attractive woman there. He was very pleased with himself after he noticed her constantly glancing down at his crotch. "Hi, there, I'm Jerry," he said, as he went into one of his well rehearsed routines, "and I help produce a T.V. quiz show. Is there any question I can answer for you?" "As a matter of fact there is," she said as she glanced down once more toward his embellished jeans. "Do you have change for a dollar?

Did anyone look close at the coin they used for the official coin toss for this past February’s Super Bowl? On one side it had a bust of Teddy Roosevelt, and on the other side was a bust of Nathan Hale. If you’re wondering why the coin was designed that way, it’s so the team making the call can call “Ted’s or Hale’s”. (This is known as a “Spoonerism”).

I've been running for 19 years, outside all year round in SE Pa. I notice nails, screws along the roadway all the time. I pick every one up and discard them in my garbage. When I find a coin that is rev up, I pick it up and toss it over my shoulder so that it might land obv up for someone else.

First of all, just want to say thank you to LordM for the kindness; what a way to build community! I’m starting out with an interest in Early American Copper, and trying to get the lay of the land, so to speak. I guess I’ll bring in a question here, of the two earliest American coppers, why is the older (Nova Constellatio) generally priced lower than the newer (Fugio)? Thanks!

@yorkshireman- that is a lovely New Brunswick cent. I'm from Brunswick, Georgia, so I browse New Brunswick material occasionally. I'd like one of their penny tokens from the 1840s with the ship reverse, but looking at your 1864 cent and the rose wreath up close, I find it quite appealing. I'm familiar with the type, of course, and have found them in bulk lots, but usually only in lower grade. Seeing a high grade example in a TrueView is a pleasing view.

I have retooled the loot list in the OP, with a new link, to an updated page. Prizes will continue to be added to the kitty as the month goes on. And I should be adding some more tiny gold fanams, too, so there will be gold on the list! Not big gold, obviously, but fun little tiny gold coins- and old ones, at that. Check the list for periodic updates.

You may edit to update your prize preferences at any time before the deadline.

    entry post.

A man walks into a bar and orders a beer.
After having the beer, he asks the bartender for the bill.

    "$3", says the bartender.

The man just for fun goes on and places a $1 coin on the three ends of the table. The bartender gives him a bad look but has no other option but to pick them up.

This happened for 3-4 days and everyday the bartender felt humiliated.

The next day, he orders a beer but couldn't find three $1 coins to pay the bill. So, he hands the bartender a $5 note. Now, the bartender gets all excited and thinks that it is his day to avenge the hard time he had because of this man. He then places the two $1 coins at the opposite ends of the table.

Now, with a shrewd smile and with all the excitement he goes to the man and says, "Go on, collect your change".

The man then takes out a $1 coin from his pocket and puts it in front of the bartender and says, "One more beer please."

entry post thanks for the opportunity LM.

Choices are 1. Franklin half, 2, washington 25c with clip, 3. Panama 1/2 Balboa

I've been meaning to tell you that as a departure/breather from my "regular" collecting pursuits (NBNs, papal and some ancients), over the last couple of years I'm been working to complete some US collections that had been neglected for a looooooong while, specifically 30 years or more. Specifically Danscos 7070, Silver $ date book (in which I added silver ikes, susie Bs and a couple of pages of modern $1 and 50cent commems), and a Franklin half $ book with strong eye appeal updated to include silver Kennedys thru 1970. All the holes in these are now filled filled with just a few upgrades that I'd like to make just to balance them out. The inspiration for this was your Dansco silver $ book a couple of years ago, After seeing your book I realized I'd been sitting in a collecting silo too long and needed something to recharge the batteries. I learned a LOT (altho in no ways an expert) and corrected some misconceptions I had about these series that had held an interest that kept pulling me back. So thanks again LM for the inspiration to climb out of the well.

    What fun!

Always interested in St Louis MO & IL metro area and Evansville IN national bank notes and Vatican/papal states coins and medals!

@BIGWEBB - the random number generator smiled upon you!

Per your stated preferences, you get the 1957 Washington quarter error. PM your shipping address to me, and I'll get it off to you after the holiday.
