It's not a coin for me. I'd rather have a nice 64 and save the extra $52,995.

CoinFacts says 11/2. That's a far cry from 12/0. Compared to previous auctions, looks about $10k overpriced, but of course not all 66s are created equal.
Nice, but I'll pass !!!
I will leave that for the registry collectors...
Just a tad overpriced.... Cheers, RickO
I agree with Walkerfan. A really nice MS64 plus over 50K would be much more attractive to me as 'registry' points mean little ro me. Plus the fact three leggers are a condition rarity where the prices begin soaring MS65 and up/. All in all, I will settle with an attractive 64 and the change on these.
I don't need an UNC version of this storied coin. I'm not competing with anybody. My budget levels off WAY lower than this pinnacle of grade and price.
Don't get me wrong!
This is a Registry Set coin, and if ya wanna play, you gotta PAY.
I'm happy with my AU-50.

As an unintended issue, a VF scratched my minor itch.
To me it is just a much hyped die polishing "error" from the 1930's.
Overrated. This variety not needed for a complete date/mint run of Buffalo Nickels.
Whoever is careless with the truth in small matters cannot be trusted with important matters.
When did collectors start valuing die polish on this issue? 1960s or later?
I believe they hype on this variety began shortly after it was first issued. It was already very well established by the 1960's.
Word got around quick because of this quirky legless nickel right from the start. As far as "valuing" die polish...........that started almost immediately after they were reported.

If I were you, I'd jump on that five dollar discount
Long before that. It was reported and sold for a premium not long after it was minted. Here's an ad selling them from 1940.
I would buy a 58 and save even more.
We think a like on this.
I like my 55

Jabba, that's a helluva Buff! π
Never intended to add one to my set, but some years back when my wholesale dealer friend brokered a fresh estate deal, I got dibs on the SLQ and Buffalo albums. It was an all or nothing deal, and the 3 legger was a decent XF that matched my set so I kept it for myself.
Happy with my 58+, lots more coins to buy with all the extra $$$ saved.
Here's my 3 legged. It's a PCGS MS62 that I bought raw as an AU 20 years ago.
