How many of you have ever seen an Eagle Press? Either in pictures or in person? Having just been gifted one, I’m amazed to find how rare they seem to be.

    I have seen pictures of that one...and a couple others... I have not actually seen a press at a show or shop. Cheers, RickO

    I’m fishing for new information. What’s available is as rare as the presses themselves. You coin guys are the only group associated with the embossing presses, because of their association with the business card coin tokens in the Civil War era.

    An alternative way to "bump" the general topic back onto the first index page of the forum would be to post an additional message to the original thread.

    Something like
    "In case anyone missed this earlier, does anyone have additional information on this press?"

    That way anyone who missed the earlier post will also see the replies, photos, etc. on the other thread and will get a richer view of the background of these.

    The association is the manufacturer. Merriam made both embossing presses and tokens. He also made tokens with pictures of his embossing presses.

    @MrTea There is a lot of information on this press at "Nor-Cal Seal Collectors". Isaac Ehrlich, Esq is the head curator. Here's a page dedicated to this press.

    Your press is very rare and may be only the 2nd known. Nor-Cal Seal Collectors has only found 1 other one so far. It may be worth reaching out to Isaac and letting him know about your press.

    Isaac may be @sealcollector here but I'm not sure. @sealcollector has "norcalseals" in his/her signature.

    Thank you all for your advice and suggestions. I’ve had good conversation with Mr. Ehrlich, and his knowledge is wide, but I was hoping for more sources. Perhaps there simply aren’t additional sources.
