1909 indian head mint error ?

After a few hours of searching online i found nothing like this. It's time to ask the pros. Is there a name for this ? is it common or rare ? has anyone seen any thing like this ? there are no marks on the edge. the the marks come from between every 5 denticles. how did this happen ? Your wisdom please and thanks !!!

Might have been made for some type of game.
I recall another thread about coins being “modified” for game play but cannot recall more than that.

PMD.... someone had time to waste.... Often saw people do things to coins when I was in the Navy, at sea. Mostly they made rings, but many made love tokens too... or just messed them up. Cheers, RickO
As a former jeweler, I recognize those marks as being the kind of mark a 'graver' would make. They are used for bead setting stones.
Damaged, as has been 'pointed' out.
The technical term is 'damaged'
