    Strange looking mint mark. Probably added to a real 1916 dime.

    A late member of our coin club used to fashion those in his jewelry shop; the worst that would happen would be he would have to return the money when the customer realized he had been duped.

    The date is all jacked up too. The 6 looks too tall and the serifs on the 1s are on the right!!

    Not to sound too preachy here, but why would a coin club allow a dealer member who not only sells fakes, but actually MAKES fakes, to stay in the club?

    Good question, unfortunately I have never seen anyone kicked out or pressured in the two clubs I have been a member of except those who raise major issues of ethics.

    I totally agree; but the member was a WWII veteran, the other member making the charge owns a coin shop but did so years after the guy had closed his jewelry shop, but he still went to coin shows. Timeliness is vital in such matters and evidence. If I had been ripped off I would have filed a complaint with the state AG to get something on record.
