    I'd choose coin 2. Looks like a better strike to me.

    I hate spots and coin #1 has what looks like a mushy center strike, so I’d choose coin #2.

    Always buying nice toned coins! Searching for a low grade 1873 Arrows DDO Dime and 1842-O Small Date Quarter.

    1. Better and less common look. Better strike. Toning accentuates the design.

    I like #2 better also for some the reasons mentioned previously (Strike, lack of spots).

    You could almost make a case for coin #2 being mint state.
