First early copper, 1786 New Jersey Maris 23-p. Need some advice

LCS is closing in two days and I got this for $120. I've had my eyes on these early copper coins and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get a guaranteed authentic one. The surfaces on the coin are nice, however on the obverse there is one small green dot. The holder is also beat and needs to be reholdered. What should I do? Cross to PCGS? Reholder with ANACS? Should I attempt to get rid of the green dot? Great looking coin IMO regardless.

    Nice coin. It should have been conserved by ANACS before slabbing. Get it out of that holder, have it fixed and it will be beautiful!

    Crack it, send to PCGS for conservation? Or stick with ANACS and send it for reholder+conservation? This is the first time I would be doing this so it is new for me. Never had experiences with conservation!

    Yes if you’re going to get it re-holder I would definitely get rid of the green it’ll put your mind at ease and with so Little known examples existing of these coins I would no doubt take care of it now

    Definitely send it for conservation... and it would be my recommendation to send it to our hosts....and have them slab it when conservation is complete. Cheers, RickO

    Nice looking coin and the spot would bother me too. I agree with @ricko, send it in and have it conserved with PCGS.
