2017 Silver Liberty Medal Set spotting

I have the 2017 Silver Medal Set as well as several of the 2017-P individual releases. All mine are slabbed by our host as First Strike. Several of these have developed spotting in white and orangish. When I put the slab under the microscope I see something that looks like crystals...has anyone seen anything like this before?

Don't quote me on that.

@dmwest Blurry, but looks like milk spots.

Also, doing a forum search will bring up several threads on the issue.
Just say no to silver, premium-rich graded coins. No guarantees.
Especially the 70s which will bite harder when they spot.
And in answer to your question, yes, I have seen this many times.
Classic milk spots, which really stinks. Sometimes I wish the Mint would just add an antique finish to these things to avoid the all-too-common spots that can develop.
Yep... the old milk spot problem.... The problem 'seemed' to have been eliminated for a while... now I have heard of it a few times lately.... Cannot be removed by any known method... yet. Cheers, RickO
