I bought the holder and not the coin!

Well, sort of....Okay, so the last thing that I needed was another 1945 S Walker, as I already have a beautifully toned NGC 66 that is very well struck up and another white and very sharp for the issue PCGS 66.

I bought this 65 because it is my favorite NGC holder--the fabled green-labeled, gold-foiled, no-line fatty! The coin is a gem and has decent yellow-gold, original color, too, so it's not too shabby--just maybe a little soft in the center but that is typical for the issue. Oh yeah, and it has the little green sticker, too, so all is well and now it must be a grand slam LOL!

I paid double sheet for it but I'm okay with that, at this point in the game. Thank you for looking and enjoy. Any and all comments are welcome.

Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

That slab must have the tightest seal cause the coin looks great, well preserved. Peace Roy

I understand completely. Really, the last thing you need is just any other one, but one in your favorite NGC slab with a bean is exactly what you need!

Nice example! Great coin and slab! Congratulations!

Nice coin Walkerfan. I guess the previous owner of this coin didn't get the message that the NGC fatties have contributed to lower NGC CAC pops.

Thanks. Nice to see you posting again.

Why would that be? I see lots of fatties with beans.

Nice pick there ! I too won a beautiful early fatty at Great Collections. Oh the coin is a beauty also. Sorry I really need to work on those images.

Great looking coin. Congratulations. Liberty's head is strong. There are no distractions on Liberty's leg or hip. Right field looks very nice. Great sun. Complementary toning. Looks like strong luster. Excellent.

Congratulations! I saw that coin, but decided it wasn't a must have. It's nice to see it went to someone the appreciates the complete package.

Nice holder with great color and well-defined lines. By the images, I'd say it was at least an MS-65 and CAC-worthy.

    Congrats!

@jtlee321 that's fantastic, Justin! I am fascinated by provenance and history. The pictures look awesome. Thanks so much!!

Absolutely any time. I sent you a PM.

I think you will be happy with it when it arrives. The images from GC are a bit underwhelming from how it looks in hand.

Are those old NGC holders now getting a premium? I think I have a couple of them hiding in the cabinet... or a box. Not going to sell them... Do not even remember what coins are in them... Must check... Cheers, RickO

Total package... Pretty outer plastic and the coin inside seems to have a nice personality ;):p

I said this ATS, but I really hope that Great Collections sticker doesn't mess up the gold foil!

If you soak the sticker with mineral oil before peeling it off it won't.

Heavily saturated until it's semi transparent.

Wiped off the excess oiliness and then de-grease with Windex.

They almost always bring a nice premium if the coin inside is worthy. I've offered up to 2X premium for some of these. And the ones that can gold bean are possibly worth more than that. I owned an old fatty - gold stenciled reverse - Connecticut in MS66....paid 2X the sheet MS66 price about 10-12 yrs back. Wish I'd kept it. The Charter Oak was toned like a Christmas tree with reds, blues, greens, yellow, and silver.

You have great taste and you’ve proven that over and over again.

I've bought many of these holders on Great Collections. They use a sticker with very low stickiness, they come off very clean and leave no residue behind.

I got the coin today and the toning is beautiful and original. Sticker came off gently, so I didn't need to use oil. Thank you all for the kind words!
