This is really me in a past life, I posed for the obverse. And, I still have the coin cabinet.

How perfect is this halfpenny for the hobby!

Coins/tokens/medals with coins depicted always have a spot in my collection. Nice one!
Very tasteful pose, coinsarefun.......not like that brazen hussy that posed for the standing liberty quarter!

Recent acquisition...

Washington/ Made from Copper Taken From the Turpentine Works Destroyed By the Rebels Newbern, NC March 14, 1862

This is a relic medal from the dark beginnings of the American Civil War, where even a small victory of the Union Army was reason to celebrate. This medal, considered by many to be the first commemorative medal of the war, was struck by Joseph H. Merriam of Boston. Merriam probably received the copper from one of the regiments returning on furlough and had them struck as souvenirs from the battle. Like a "challenge coin" from 150 years ago! These are extremely rare. I have only seen a couple, and no where near as nice as this one.

My favorite copper piece is from north of the border.

See if you can see a witty message on the rim?
I've sold some other of J. Henry's tokens and they all had something neat written on the edge.
1863 New York store card:

RMR: 'Wer, wenn ich schriee, hörte mich denn aus der Engel Ordnungen?'
CJ: 'No one!' [Ain't no angels in the coin biz]
