What is Your Pocket Piece?

Pocket Piece: a coin carried in the pocket, commonly or daily.
This is what I have come to understand of the numismatic expression.
I find it fascinating that people “circulate” a coin in this fashion to wear off cleaning, damage, or just for fun/luck.
When I finally decided to got for a pocket piece of my own I chose a Standing Liberty Type 2 design copper round, purchased from JT Stanton on eBay. It was sadly one of if not the last eBay order filled before our community lost him last year and his store was closed. This gives an extra special sentimental value to the Piece for me. Here it is after a few months and after it’s first coin show.
Care to chare pics of your pocket piece coin?

Nice piece, Aspie!
I posted this recently. My grandfather gave me this in the mid-90s. I carried it daily until he passed away. I don’t carry it any longer because I would be devastated if I lost it. Too much sentimental value to me.

The only time I've really had a pocket piece, it was a Daniel Carr 2006 Denver Mint Centennial silver token, but I'm not sure it counts because it was in an Air-Tite
When the Sac dollars came out, I briefly carried one as a pocket piece, just to see how the metal changed in color in the "real world". After it got to a (rather attractive) brownish gold, I stopped. No longer any need to experiment!
I hesitate to carry anything of any real value, because I'm pretty sure I'd lose it after not too long....
I am a pocket piece weirdo.
Have many, rotate in and out.
I had Sac that I carried since day 1, finally had it slabbed.
It was literally AG03 and ANACS gave it a stupid grade of like F15 or some irrelevant number.
I have some Lincolns that literally I wore to the zinc core.
I have a picture of the Sac somewhere--- I'll post it later if a) I can find it and b) I can figure out how to do it, but then c) nobody probably gives a rat's fart anyway!
Here are some current ones that were in the pocket--the Prez $ I have carried since the day if release. It is very worn--lots of obverse lettering worn away.

I carried this at least 6 months more before it graded
My pocket change is for spending....I have too many other things in various pockets... useful items, so I do not carry anything in my eight pocket cargo pants that does not have a purpose. Cheers, RickO
I can’t stand anything in my pocket! If I had my preference, no coins, no keys, etc. During the work week, I usually just carry around the dry cleaning tag I removed from my shirt when I put it on. That's my good luck charm.
He who knows he has enough is rich.
Thank you all for sharing your pocket pieces, "cool" !!!
Started carrying these two pieces in 2017.
A 1965 PL Canadian $, a 1943 S 1/2 $ and a hunk of silver I melted together with my Mapp Gas Torch from a 1948 Mexican Peso, a 1965 Canadian 1/2 $ and a 1963 Franklin 1/2 $..............why did I melt them together you ask..........well let just say I was under the influence of a couple Corona's and a couple of Molson's and a couple of Budweiser's that Night

Steve
I switch them out....

My pocket piece, 19 years later...
Never carried one before but that's all about to change on February 13 when the new Native American dollar is released. That coin will be my first. Can't wait to show off my "POCKET ROCKET" to friends and neighbors!

O.k., I'll admit it. Got started a little too early this morning. Seems funny right now. Tomorrow things will probably look a little different. I've got to slow down. The game doesn't start for another 4 1/2 hours. I do want to remember it. At least the highlights.
Thanks, Aspie. You're one solid guy. I was beginning to doubt myself. Hey! Hope you enjoyed the Long Beach show! I am so down. First show I've missed for many, many years. I always look forward to it. Just didn't happen. The rain was so heavy I just couldn't get off the ranch. Flooding. You know how it is in SoCal. When it does rain.......it POURS! Saturday was the worst. Anyway.....thanks. Always enjoy your posts.

I typically carry three coins in my pocket. Well, I used to. Then, I got away from it. But, now that I’m starting to get back into reading these forums, I found my three coins and am carrying them again.
The Mercury Dime because this was the first coin (not this exact coin, but a Merc Dime) that I bought when I was a kid. Until then, my entire “collection” was found in change.
The Morgan because it’s my favorite to collect. And, I like the big, heavy dollar and the unmistakable silver ring when I flip it in the air for heads-tales!
The 2-Cent because I liked tossing it on the table at work and letting everyone in the meeting know that I was about to put my 2-cents in! Ok, corny, but it did spark interest in and discussions about the coin. Most people never knew that there was a 2-Cent coin. And, this particular one is cool because 1864 is the first year of issue, and this is the first coin type to bear the motto “In God We Trust.” After doing this a while, I had a couple people interested in buying one, so I sold them their very own 2-Cent piece!

I just carry a Liberty Lobby half oz silver round. Just a piece of silver that if I lost would not be a big loss.
I don't have a pic of it but I have a an 1879 damaged morgan that I always carry. Been carrying it for approx. 13 yrs now.

1884 was the year my great grandmother was born, I have the coin in the keychain in memory of her.
01s Barber Half. Almost slick on the reverse, but you can see the mm.
I used to carry an Ike, Morgan, and Peace $, but I somehow lost them (actually, I think a student swiped them from my desk one day while I was showing them).
Compliments of Mr. Witten.
I lost this one in the yard (I think) one day a few years back after carrying it for nearly 10 years.

Call me in about 15 years when yours looks like mine:
In fairness, mine was beat up and scratched when I started carrying it. The good news is, after 15 years almost all of the scratches have worn off.
I also have carried this one around for at least a decade, I could still barely make out the 179 in the date when I bought it:
Sorry for the blurry pics, I took them quickly with my phone, I will try to update these later.

Mine is a purse piece. (Women's clothes tend to lack pockets.) It started life raw, circulated, and cleaned. I'm hoping to get it into my grading set of Connecticuts at some point.
The nickels were very dark with corrosion when I started. They show lots of detail, but are pock-marked. I figure one could go in a parking meter if I'm out of other change (cheaper than a ticket).
The bent bun penny is just for fun.

Time for a metal detector! Another member has one for sale. I know it's $20 or so but hey.
I love the Charter Oak!
That is AWESOME!!!
I love that design, and the wear/tone is epic. So beautiful.

Interesting...it never occurred to me to carry a numismatic coin. I don’t like the sound of change in my pocket. I sometimes carry this:
But not in my pocket (ha).
