My son's first silver.......

Yesterday afternoon my son was out riding his bike through puddles and having fun.
Then next thing I know I hear him yell "DAD! 1941! I got a 1941 silver quarter!" I turned and looked and was wondering where in the world he would get one of those. So I asked him and he said, "It was laying right here!"
Boy was he excited.
So I thought I would share with you all.
The pictures are bad but I wanted to post a couple.

That is great! Congrats to your son @Brutalfly! Wait, and he knows what a silver quarter is, too? Now that’s awesome!

Wondering if this was literal coin drop for last week’s coin hunt.

Suspect there will be many more finds to come.

Give your son a big pat on the back. Nice find!

Congratulations. I can honestly say that as a kid I would have only seen it as a quarter. Sounds like your son may one day find himself on these boards.

Very cool! How many of us got into collecting (appreciating the treasure of a Wheat penny or such).

I have 3 kids that collect coins. They are 10, 8, and 6. My 6 year old is not as interested as the other to but I tell you what when they see a roll of pennies every one of them flips them straight to the reverse side looking for wheat pennies. Then when it comes to Nickels they are always checking for Buffalo Nickels. As for the quarters they are also always asking is this silver and checking dates and for different state quarters. It is great to watch because check all change before they spend it or when the get it back.

We recently just completed the Lincoln cents from 1940 to 2018 for each of them. We have finished the State Park Quarters and we are working on the State Park Quarters.
