Note that there are some exclusions:

Eligible items exclude warranties and protection plans, as well as items from the Stamps, Coins & Paper Money, Gift Cards & Coupons, and Real Estate categories. Coupon must be used within a single transaction (and can include multiple eligible items), while supplies last. Max one-time use per account or household.

Yeah, tried it on a coin and found out it doesn't work. I'll have to see what else I can find to spend it on. Thanks!

Thanks for the heads up! I just purchased a 1964 or previous dated silver dime from Ebay item number, 163671713723. It’s from a new seller, but it’s worth the .25 cent risk!

I've had great transactions with people like: drwstr123, CCC2010, AlanLastufka, Type2, Justlooking, zas107, StrikeOutXXX, 10point, 66Tbird, and many more!

OK help me understand this. The rules in the original post above say coins (in that category) are excluded. Where are these silver coins above listed?

Also, why are people saying there is a risk - doesn't the coupon either work or not at checkout?

What category are used stamps from the 1950's in? :D

The Ebay listing for the silver dimes was created by the seller in a different category than what was excluded from the coupon. Therefore, Ebay still allows the sale along with the coupon. The listing price is for, $3.25. Since the coupon instantly saves you $3.00, the difference is .25 cents. The only risk that I see is that the seller only has a 4 positive feedback. Even still, if the seller doesn’t end up delivering, Ebay would still make it right. So, really, there’s no risk, but the potential of an inexpensive silver dime :)!

One more thing, if you paste the listing number that I posted above in Ebay’s search engine, it’ll take you to the listing.

Is not Bullion a subcategory of Coins & Paper Money? At least that is how it looks to me.

    Bump...

Come on, people. If you can't find something that is worth buying at a $3 discount, then go for the overpriced $3.25 silver dime mentioned above (or similar) that nets out to 25 cents after using the coupon.

The guy selling Roosevelt dimes posted a message that he ran out, now he's selling mercury's for $3.69. Still a good deal for .69

Whether you think you can or, think you can't, you're right.

I picked up a Mercury Dime for $0.59 after discount. I wish I knew ahead of time when these coupons were coming out. I'd list a whole bunch and let eBay fill my wallet for once.. :D

I also got a nice AU or better 1964 dime. Not bad for 25 cents.

Since this happens at unpredictable times, I've found it's worthwhile to have one or two items always listed in some category like collectibles (or list something when people mention a promo is going on).

It also helps for people who use Ebates as the coins category seems to always be excluded.

Once again, I never understood why eBay excluded these coupons from the coins section. What the heck is the difference?
Anyway, thanks for the heads up. Bought a silver quarter for 1.50 or so
