eBay popups on the forums...

All of a sudden, every time I open a post with an eBay link I get a pop up to the auction in the lower right of my iPad screen. This is annoying as hell! PLEASE MAKE IT STOP!!!
Thanks for all help.
We now return you to your usual zaniness.

I have not seen this yet....It would certainly be annoying though....Just got a new computer, so maybe my software has some blocking functions... Cheers, RickO
I get it on my phone and tablet. It is annoying.
I get this on my phone. It just pops up when I am moving past the link then disappears.
Have you considered that it is your phone settings or browser settings and not the board settings? Maybe YOU can MAKE IT STOP!
Well, I wouldn’t think that it would be the forum settings and I certainly wouldn’t have asked the question before I checked my iPad/iPhone settings . But I really appreciate your valuable input.
Agreed, sounds like one of those annoying apple things. Nothing to do with PCGS or the forum.
I just started seeing this too. I thought it was a forum update like the edit gear. I don’t mind it so much since it seems only for eBay links on the forum and includes a photo so it’s adds info to the thread.
I think it's only on mobile devices.
eBay has screwed up almost EVERYTHING on their mobile site.
Even the search feature.
I stay with my desktop and have speed and better results.
I've seen it on my phone, it's annoying to the point that I just close the thread all together.

Hmmm, I don't see any poopups oops I mean popups. Adblock is wonderful.
I don't see any on either my tablet or android phone
Just another thing to ignore and/or learn to live with.

The popups have showed up for a couple of months. Using ipad safari what is everybody else using.
maybe @HeatherBoyd can chime in on this issue

I have this eBay popup too. I wonder if it happens because I have the eBay app on my phone?
I get them on an android phone not desktop [google]. No ebay app on phone but do search and open offers.
I've had them on my iPad for awhile now (if someone links an eBay auction in a post, the pop-up window with a direct link to the auction shows in the lower right of my ipad).
I tried removing the eBay app, resetting everything in Safari, looking at settings, etc. The only thing I found to stop it was turn javascript off in Safari, but that wrecks a lot of other things.
I haven't found a working solution personally.

I asked them how I could stop the spam type pop-ups and links; they said there was no way to do that.
I feel the same about ebay allowing Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, to have links that lead away from ebay to their sites, but they won't allow me to have a link to my own site or to use my dotcom in the listings. I'm paying for the listing. It is rubbish and we are subject to TOS !
I use adblock plus and do not have problems with popups.

eBay is a good system generally, for buyers and can be for sellers with controls built in. Not like the Wild West days around 2000. Still as a seller I am amazed at how I have to enter all salient details into a listing every single time and how little sellers really get for what they pay with their system in terms of automatic background information on individual coins. There should be a template for every coin and every grade with ease of listings.
LOL, on that one.

How come PCGS has not responded to this issue as to why it shows up etc and removal of it?
@BrettPCGS
@HeatherBoyd
using ipad safari NO ebay app and setting is blocked for pop ups.
Ok here is the response.
The popups are a business arraingement with EBAY
Since this answer was hard to get and my post got deleted as well. That explains it.
Thank you for letting us know.
Heather closed that other thread.
The crazy advertisement thing I see for ebay is the regular 'ad' that you see on many web pages. Heck, some pages have 10 ads (not 10 ebay ads) scattered on them.
Well, anyway, the standard ad I see will show a photo of three different coins for sale on ebay. Very often one of the coins will be mine. Like I'm supposed to think that everyone that looks at the page is seeing my stuff. It's just 'feel-good' advertising. It's odd though......

It's a tie in from the app. Slightly annoying, but not annoying enough for me to have researched a work around.
