sorting penny

I was sorting through some coins today and I found what looks like a yellow 2013 Shield penny has anyone ever come across that before I know it's not gold

Off-gold-colored paint (touted as gold-plated). The cent is being used as a freebie promotional item to watch an in-store promotion for jewelry.

Gold plated - or sometimes painted - are encountered from time to time. Some are promotional, others are done in plating shops by employees as 'experiments'.... I worked in printed circuit facilities for years and saw many coins plated.... Cheers, RickO

Yes it does I would post a picture but my camera is poor. I just found a 2012 the same way
So it is of no value? Just a fun find
