Take a look at my US Type Collection in one big picture

This is my US Type Collection so far. It is a mix of coins that my grandmother gave to me as a young boy (for example, the holed seated half dollar), and others that I have purchased over the last 40 or so years. I have arranged the coins by denomination going top to bottom, as well as by date from left to right. Therefore, if you look at a column of coins going down, you can get a general idea of our coins from that particular era.

Hope you enjoy!

    @Romankow

Cool! That reminds me of a genealogy map.

Thanks for displaying your visual US Type Genealogy Coin map. :)

@Romankow Great type set. I agree with the others that it is an awesome display too. You might want to get it framed like that.

    Also, love the circulation cameos.

Very nice. The transition from Liberty to dead people really stands out for me.

They don't get much more raw than that. Very cool.

MS66 taste on an MS63 budget.

@Romankow.... Excellent display and a very nice collection... I had not thought of doing it like that...That would make a great display at a show or in your office. Too bad such an album is not available. Cheers, RickO

Very nice, probably nice to handle those coins versus just slabs.

I loathe the idea of collecting slabbed coins. The whole point of collecting, to me, is to be able to feel the coins in my hands. So, most coins I buy are raw, but a couple of them I have bought slabbed and then cracked out (the trade dollar and the bust half). I will no doubt need to buy slabbed versions of a bust dollar and all flowing hair coins, because I simply am not skilled at identifying fakes, and those coins will be more expensive than what you see in this photo. I don’t want to risk that kind of money. However, cracking out expensive coins also immediately lowers their value, so I am aware that I am losing money on my purchases. Sigh

    Nice set👍🏻👍🏻

The bitterness of "Poor Quality" is remembered long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

    Very nice collection!

I really like that way of displaying them. Each row gives you a sense of what someone's pocket change from that time period would have looked like. Clearly the artistry fell off a cliff after the Peace Dollar era.

Nice collection! and the first coin at the top is a Trade Dollar. :)

This is the type of collecting that was always so enjoyable. I really like the draped half dollar. As a barber collector myself, I would recommend upgrading that Barber quarter to better match the dime and half.

Personally, I think you should make the Barbers the centerpieces of your set! :)
