It’s at $3433.
Found it in @ricko W thread.
Great... I guess?
Collector, occasional seller
It’d be great if it was my W.
Edit: Bidder 9 really wants it.
Your really just paying over 3K for a discovery label not sure about that
There's only two of them but is it really a rarity being a PCGS designated coin.
My grades are usually a little lower when I have spots like that. That guy hit the jackpot twice with that coin.
The general public needs to know this. It may set off the next great coin boom. Here come the early 1960s!!!!!!
This time I will sit out the boom.
@Tetromibi said: My grades are usually a little lower when I have spots like that. That guy hit the jackpot twice with that coin.
The fact that it is an ugly 66 kind of takes away from it imo.
But....good for the seller. Might as well take advantage. I wonder if it is the guy with the CCF thread.
I wonder what the coin will be worth 2 years from now? modern coins are a big risk, I will stick to pre 33 gold

Simple, what someone is willing to pay.
Amazing !!!
real good for the seller, and hopefully good for the hobby

There are two “First Discovery” pedigreed W quarters because they both arrived at PCGS on the same day and the owners split the $5000 reward.
The other pedigrees are:
“First Week of Discovery” (those coins submitted within seven days of the first discovery coins
“Early Find” (those submitted within 45 days of the first discovery coins)
Unbelievable.... I would never have imagined this coin would command such a price.... In two years (IMO) it will sell for $50... maybe. Cheers, RickO
Reminds me of the old kids game, “hot potato.”
I wonder how the guy who purchased the first certified gold Kennedy is doing?
Will be looking out for these in circ. If do find one I will have it labeled "The BLUEJAYWAY discovery piece".
Bidder 9 retook the auction with bid @ $3663.

Still much less than the first 2014 gold Kennedy half dollar which ultimately sold for $100,000.
