Was a dealer in Florida that was always at the local coin shows along the East Coast.
When I was in elementary school and middle school, he would teach me at the coin shows about things to look for on currency and coins. Always was a nice guy. Now I'm older and can afford to buy more stuff and I'd love to thank him for always being kind to a little kid.
I believe JP Martin is still at ANACS.

I remember Mr. Hargis was a grader at Anacs with Mr. Campbell and Mr. Fahey who are still graders, not sure about Hargis. What happened to JT who was memorable with the golfing hat while promoting the old ICG? There were others at ICG then too, Walt Armitage for one.
AFAIK, JP Martin has not been at ANACS for at least a year! I have not seen his name on the ANA Seminar catalogue either.
I don't think the info on John Maben is current either.
I'll call MCM and ANACS tomorrow. I believe I will come up empty. That's why I started this discussion looking for current info. Thanks.

No need to call MCM, Mr Maben left that firm as CEO in 4/15.
After that he became Independent Consultant

Maybe ANACS needs to update their web page:
Talked to John Hunter about a year ago. He is alive and doing fine.
Thanks everyone. I got my questions answered. Apparently JP is on vacation. Good to hear Hunter is still kicking and John is living in Sarasota.
I hope someone can help about Mr. Brown for the other member.
Maben is 100% still around. I have seen him at shows. I don't think he owns the big company any more.
Yes, Maben is still in Sarasota.
I would be afraid to ask questions like these because sometimes the answer is....well...you know.
J.P. is still alive and well, consulting for ANACS and raising my 3 sons in Centennial, CO. I intend to keep a low profile in numismatics, retirement and concentrate on family. I will still be selling books on Ebay under coinbooks4u and dabbling in ancient coins. I'll be glad to occasionally chime in on these boards, but I only skim the them a couple times a week. My focus has changed and coins are only playing a minor role. That being said, I'd bet I can answer most questions put to me.
Here is a question, Koynguy. Will Anacs consider returning to the old, small white holders. A lot of love here for those things!
Only as an adjunct, and when there is time and money for such a project. Be aware what this entails, new
gasket molds, sealer and shell molds. alot of tool and die work for a maybe profitable venture. I was involved
with the first design in 1987/8 and it is still my favorite holder. J.P.
I love those old, small slabs-I wish they'd return to them.
where is Anaconda??
where is BongoBongo??
where is MadMarty??
where is Supercoin??
I seem to remember supercoin gave up coin dealing and becoming a financial advisor.
A personal injury attorney in Texas.
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
IIRC he lost his law license because of a fire-arms conviction in CO
He contacted me maybe 5 or 6 years ago wanting to partner up in an alternative CAC type business. I’m a risk taker but I have my limits

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
Was Oded Paz elected to the board of ANA in 2015? Is he still active?
He's no longer listed as a board member:

Here are some elongated tokens of his:

Has a website with customer reviews posted as recent as this week. Maybe things worked out.

I thought it was a poker player.
Where is Mark Hooten ?
Had a PhD but difficulty with finding regular employment. Eventually decided to join the Army and become a physician. Had an amazing collection of Buffalo nickels he sold to help finance Med School, etc.
Well, better late than never. After selling MCM in 2015 I went into a very low profile wholesale coin and bullion business doing 99% dealer to dealer transactions. I have now opened Pegasus Coin & Jewelry, a brick and mortar store in Bradenton, FL. My website is temporary as the permanent site is being built. Pegavault.com will begin selling coins in May 2020. I have attended all the major shows and will continue doing so but now as Pegasus Coin & Jewelry. Never thought I'd end up on the "What ever happened to list..." LOL.
