A local collector asked me if this is an error? I'm thinking it is probably a damaged Jeff. nickel. I just wanted to ask here so we get a second opinion.

Thanks for the help on this. I met the guy at the local library, my first impression it was damaged. Within a short time we both got the info we needed. You don't want to tell people their stuff is junk without other people adding credence to that with all the bad will that has been generated in this hobby by those who almost automatically look critically on coins.
I understand why some glue coins, i.e., glueing it to something like an album. Still painful to see.
But why is there glue on both sides?
Oh well to each their own.
I'm late, but Glue it is.

Yep... glue... there have been a few of these lately on the forum....An acetone soak will quickly remove it. Cheers, RickO
