Not sure what you might find but I'd want to know what is in there.
I've heard that 40% is not the best form of silver to hold onto, that 90% or .999 is better. (Same for war nickels).
I'd sell and buy 90% or .999 if you wanted to hold silver.
Sell and buy 90% with the money.
it's crackers to slip a rozzer the dropsy in snide
To put it in British terms, would you rather have sterling coin or 50% silver coin?
Face value of a US Mint bag was $1,000 for 40% silver half dollars.
Bag them then sell and buy good coin with it. Jmo
obviously a quarter bag in a bag
need to open to see what is in it, otherwise buyer could say it was something else.
"...obviously a quarter bag in a bag"
Oh....I thought they were half dollars not quarters - 40% silver quarters would be quite a find!
My point was that a bag of "500 pieces" is not original to anything - regardless of what it might say on the bag, or on grandpa's trunk in which it was stored "since he died in early 1965."
They would be Bicentennial quarters....
I thought the bison was on the nickel (or is that"nickle")?
If they are all BU, I'd go through them. There are some decent varieties to be found in those 40%. It will take a long while, but could be worth the trouble.
Sell it !!!
They are BU.
I would say just put it away.... Then, when something specific comes up (coin, bullion price etc.) sell as a bag. Cheers, RickO
