Proof like 1996 D-cent? Or is it just Decent? RESULTS ARE IN!

Compared to the 1985 D The edges are really thick and the fields are reflective. Or is this just indicative of a higher grade?
Side note - the reverse of the 85 looks wavy.

Real nice coin. I'd get it graded.
Compare with a proof:
I'll take that as a yes, the edges are thick always thicker on higher graded cents.
But, I found it in a highly circulated roll

@Hemispherical. I realize its not a proof I think the quality threw me off at first, before i realized they both use the same planchets.
It is a nice BU cent but, check the Price Guide before grading/slabbing. Is it worth it?

Yes, it would need to hit 68 for the cost side but, I may throw it in the next order anyway as it could be my first 67 and that would be way worth it. Tuition 105 (fifth order).

Now, about the cent - it's from an uncirculated roll. You should find one or two out of every 100 similar.
Don;t waste $25 to have a 1-cent value coin "graded."
Definitely a nice example worth pulling from the roll and setting aside... difficult to believe that came from a roll without getting a mark! But I wouldn't spend the money, more like $50+ if you don't have others to submit, to get the coin certified. Best of luck!

You'll only have to look at a small handful of 1996 mint sets to find one nicer. They come even more PL as well if you can find enough sets.

Generally speaking, if you are going to play the grade rarity game with moderns you might be better off buying quantities of mint sets.

OPINION: This is an exceptional coin in the image regardless of where it came from.

Insider2 - Last time I looked at the major authentication and grading company price lists, their opinions were not FREE, as you claim. Further the total cost is about $25 including fees, registered mail both ways, packaging, etc. The coin is worth one-cent. Fifty of them are worth 50-cents and will buy one-half of a 2-day old doughnut.
It seems like a disservice to a new collector to encourage unrealistic expectations, and to suggest they should waste money and effort playing the "grading pocket change" game.
The rug comment was a mild suggestion to crop photos before posting.
@rogerB.. Thanks I appreciate your honesty but. It could also be a disservice to shoot down every possibility as not possible (not saying you do, just sayin'). So. That brings us to the only solution left. Ya'll two make your best guess based on the PICS only. And I will send it in for 50+, 35.00 plus shipping along with 8 or 9 others, brings the shipping per coin down.
The two marks are above the P in Pluribus and below the I in America.
I have no clue what it will grade, it is the best I have ever held and I haven't held very many
And I will try to learn how to crop an image or find something not as distracting.
@Insider2.. I'm assuming the two marks will keep it under 68 even if it would hit a 68 w/o them.

Even if it is PL, PCGS does not designate that for Lincoln cents unfortunately.

I agree with @Insider2 that your coin is exceptional, but 1996-D Lincolns can come really really nice.
You would need a 68+ to make any money on it.
You coin will likely grade 67, although it might go higher.

No, but 11 & 12 just missed while #1 made up for it. I can't wait to see which 1962 hit the PR68. all 3 were different colors yellow, tan, and orange. I bet its the tan one, it looked really rich.
I remember getting them like that in change back in 1996. I even remember thinking how reflective and shiny they were.

I'm happy with the results and the tuition part is essential for learning. This one breaks even between value and grading costs at 451.00 with a few TV's. However the cog. was around 175 and with bounty still left (coin 2) etc.

As you can see by the results on your proof Lincolns, it has to really knock their socks off to get a really high grade.
They just have seen so many of them.

On the Cents, wait till you see the TV's. I thought these had a better chance than the '64 pr68 you commented on before and because these have mirrors so, maybe they are too brilliant, late die state.
Yea, so I'm getting 3 or 4 of the D's per box. But the boxes are full of older coins. I feel like I need a box of all new 2019's to have a chance this early in the game.

over the past few years, i have been ecstatic to start seeing more MS coins in PL pcgs holders across several type coins. there are just simply some that merit the designation. the pops are quite reflective on just how scarce the designation is for most though.
although, it seems like it is even more difficult than chasing PO01 and that is sayin' somethin'.
