I've discovered eBay. So there's that.

sparky64sparky64 Posts: 7,062 ✭✭✭✭✭

I'm as patient a person as there is. In no hurry at all.
My normal hunting grounds seem to have been dry or too pricey for quite a spell.

Getting restless, I somehow found myself poking around eBay and found several coins I liked so I hit the BIN on one.
A few days later, another and repeat...another.

My first coin purchases there.
No specific reason why I never even considered eBay but I found it to go very smooth.

I've been a member there for almost 20 years.

I have located some very nice coins there.

    I still surf it, periodically.

    Your newps look really nice.

E-Bay more often than not is the best place to nail down exactly what you should pay (look for sold listings), Similarly, coins valued higher then need to have something extra going for them or they're just over priced.

Stick with sellers with good pictures, excellent feedback and those offering returns and you shouldn't have any problems. Coins over a couple hundred dollars require special care however.

If you do what you always did, you get what you always got.

    I know what you're saying @DollarAfterDollar .
Beng familiar with this series, I'm very happy with what I got vs what I paid.
Having Trueviews when you can't view in hand is a plus in my opinion too.

I can see the trouble that one could get into if their introduction to the hobby was through Ebay.

Years ago, I purchased quite a few coins on ebay.... I still look there if I am searching for something specific....While I know there are a lot of good, honest dealers there, there also are a lot of fakes and shady deals. Just be careful. And yes, there are still treasures to be found on ebay....Cheers, RickO

Nice coins. I especially like the 52-S. And I especially love the obverse of that 52-S.

I discovered ebay almost 20 years ago. A young man came into the shop the other day and said he bought an 1856 Flying Eagle Cent for $4500 on Etsy.

Ebay is my favorite website, by far. I've found some nice treasures there myself.

I’ve never had a problem buying coins on eBay and zero problems selling. Knock on wood, of course, on both counts. Just deal with reliable folks.

I have made so many beautiful coins from eBay I can even count them up. The old days were AWESOME but, I’m here to tell you that it’s still a gold mine IF you pay attention to your basic rules of the road.
    Happy hunting, Joe

KEEP in mind I will list item at time with higher price so pick make offer if fair offer I will accept. Can’t list low.

    Was it slabbed or raw?
