Most of the coins appear to be 10 baht (Thai), roughly 30 cents each. My 1.5 lb coffee can usually has around $200 worth of quarters. Judging by how many coffee cans would fit in that water tank, yeah, lots of money. FYI those are 1000 baht notes in the piggy bank towards the end (~$30 each).

The first piggy broken open had US $100 US at ~6:10.

Yes. The one after that (I think) was mostly 1000 baht notes. Starting around 7:10.

Having metal working tools in my shop it made me cringe watching those guys scoop coins out of that just cut lid, that would be incredibly sharp.

MS66 taste on an MS63 budget.

Thats interesting he has US $100 bills. Its usually tourists/foreigners that have the $100 bills, most thai have thai notes like the 1000 baht that was in the larger piggy bank.

Wonder how they can absolutely stuff a piggy bank with crisp, flat, unfolded bills?

I guess the banks over there can't be trusted?

I used to purposely buy stuff with paper money and never use any change, I would throw it in a large water jug and let it add up, I never had the patience to completely fill it but I did get over $600 once, it’s easy to do that with the coin counters in banks now except they charge a fee. I stopped using cash years ago, everything goes on my Capital One and I get 1.5% cash back on everything. I pay it off twice a month and don’t pay interest so it’s free money

Coinpalice, banks are used a lot but a lot of people also hold cash on hand and/or hide it under the mattress/in the house. I'm surprised the person didn't buy gold and store his money in that, few months ago when I was in thailand I visited the gold stores and people were coming in with wads and wads of money buying gold.

Most people I know in Thailand have stashes of US $100's. Assume many countries are the same. It's one of the more stable currencies and accepted almost everywhere. Better exchange rate with 100's than lower bills as well.
