Battlefield Coin Show Report (UPDATED)

The first day of the Inaugural Spring Battlefield Show was very successful! The sign in attendance was 502. Dealers I talked with were "very pleased" to "overjoyed" with their sales. Everything was selling. Morgan dollars, both common circulated dates to an MS62 NGC 1889CC, gold bullion coins, junk silver, circulated Lincoln cents, proof sets, bust type and currency sold well. Buyers were out in force today!
I met several CU members and former members. If you make it to the show, PLEASE, look me up. If I'm not at the front desk, I will be walking the floor and whoever is at the front desk can call me on the radio to come up to the desk.
Unfortunately, our supply dealer cancelled at the last minute. There is only one table of supplies and the number of collectors searching for supplies was surprising. The September show will have a new supply dealer who will be bringing a large selection with him.
I bought a box of mixed proof sets from 1960-2000, which included a 2001 Proof eagle and a Jefferson proof commem $. Tom Friend sold me a Coors Light Silver bar, but other than that I did not buy anything. I do not have a table to sell coins from at this show.
THE BAD: The ballroom had several problems with the electricity going off. The new owners of the Eisenhower Hotel are working to update the rooms, etc and there is a lot of work going on. This work might account for the outages.
Overall, as the show promoter, I was pleased with the show.

Nice report
Thanks @MICHAELDIXON for your show report.
@MICHAELDIXON
I'm glad the show is working out well for you.
Good to hear a promising report.
It's been a long time since we crossed paths. I hope you are well.
Thank you.
Was at the show this past fall. The ballroom was a big improvement from the sports arena room across the street. Its worth checking out. Gettysburg has a lot of hotels and restaurants near by. You can do a self guided drive through the battlefields which have some impressive monuments or walk in town to the small shops etc. The last time I was there the coin show was on and a gun show across the street. Oh and they have factory outlets near there as well.
The battlefields were the dog's favorite part of the trip.

Thanks for an interesting report. You said gold bullion coins were moving well... this is the first report this year that noted such movement....Cheers, RickO
cool report, I like
I'll set up again one of these times, for sure. Just too busy these days...

Saturday did not have as many attend as Friday, but 381 attended. The combined total, with early birds, was 930. I was hoping for 1000, but as one dealer said: "It is better to have quality customers, as opposed to quantity." Dealers were happy with their sales on Saturday and most submitted their contracts to attend September's show.
Please plan to attend the September 2019 National Battlefield Coin Show on September 13-14.
Thanks for the report.
