CAC to acquire ANACS; plan to implement 100 point grading scale

Coinweak press release:

FAR HILLS, NJ

In a surprising move, CAC, a New Jersey based coin grading company, has announced plans to purchase ANACS coin grading service, based in Colorado. The new grading company is to be positioned in the collectibles market as a major tier grading service called "CANAC."

Sources says they added the 'C' and removed the 'S' because, well, the 'S' for service is kinda implied, and the name just looked better as a palindrome.

Using both the reference grading set CAC has established, combined with Ron Guth's 100 point grading system, CANAC intends to create a grading service like none the industry has seen before.

This potentially makes CANAC graded coins the most valuable coins on the market, ever!

You can submit any PCGS, NGC, ANACS, or ICG graded coin for a discounted introductory fee. If CANAC agrees with the old 70 point scale grade, they grade the coin with the new 100 point based system. They affix their grade as a sticker on the reverse of the slab.

If they don't agree with the grade, they crack your coin out and send it back raw.

Alternatively, you can opt for one of the best coin holders ever by selecting the CANAC holder, made of a special "space-age" polymer. The CANAC slab does not fit in any existing coin holder boxes, but a separate CANAC box is available. Please be aware that all other coin slabs do not fit in the CANAC slab box, as it holds 10 coin slabs.

Have a great April 1st everyone!

The non-adaptable holder box bit was a nice touch.

    Smitten with DBLCs.

Fake News! There are actually a number of very wealthy well-connected billionaires who collect coins poised for a hostile takeover of all the major grading services with the intention of creating a powerful monopoly within numismatics! An IPO is on the horizon. If you want to deal in the future you will have to dance to their tunes. When you send coins in, due to their artful lawyers who are acrobats of the pen, their grades will be based on arbitrary and shifting standards based usually on who submits them and how much they pay. If you want a problem coin to straight grade, you check a box with an ascending scale of charges for resurfacing and toning based on potential value and how bad it is and whether they need to churn out more profits for their shareholders. There will be no guaranteed or estimated turn around times. Charges will be assessed on arrival of submissions, earned when paid by cash or cash equivalent. Submissions could even disappear into the proverbial roach motel if the coins are too ugly and may or may not get compensated if melted.
