Far too many nicks and scrapes to bring much of a price. (Looks like Liberty has been in a fight with 1916 Heavyweight boxing champion Jess Willard.)

It looks like the lower bands are touching so I do not see it as FB, and I would second the other replies that the coin is not of sufficient grade to be worth the fees.

Under a loupe the lower bands are in great shape, I'm wondering if my lighting is screwing up the opinions,,,

A 16 does not have much of a premium in FB as they are pretty easy to find struck well. Even a 64FB sells for under $100.

MS66 taste on an MS63 budget.

Your coins looks to be full bands. Only the center bands are considered for this designation. The lower bands are not relevant to the designation.

Even though it is full bands, it is not worthy of submission.

If there are no clarinets, it cannot be a"full band."

For the FB designation only the middle bands matter. However, if they matter to the potential buyer then they are important.

to the boards. A nice enough coin, but not worth slabbing like the others have said.

Look for maximum detail on ALL of the coin, not just one isolated feature. This is a common trap for collectors - they search for only that one descriptor, such as "full bands" or "full steps," to the exclusion of the rest of the coin, and are then disappointed when they try to trade or sell and cannot find any interest.

I honestly bought it for 35 and I jus really liked the subtle toning and it seemed in good shape, I will likely just keep it, jus didnt know if i had a rarity or not once I saw the FB desig.

If you knew it was circulated, why are you even thinking of sending it in? Also, Stevie Wonder can see that this is not FB. The contact mark will disqualify it. The band is not split all the way to the end. It is circulated. AND everyone here thinks it is, so it usually won't be! :)

For both of your condescending remarks, if you read my initial posts I was asking opinions on if it was an fb, and y'all are entitled to your opinions,, but I have stacks of morgans and ASE's I'm trying to branch out and educate myself, and fk matchbooks

I like how he has to correct me and say the center bands are what matters, claiming he knows nothing about FB designations.

I posted your own photo. If you can't see the band disrupted multiple times, you simply don't want to.

This and other coins you've posted are not "junk." But what others are getting at is you evidently have a lot to learn about careful examination and grading of coins. The ANA has a fine class in grading and the cost is less than a few wasted TPG "gradings" of inferior coins.

The negative personal attitude of some cannot be condoned, but everyone is a little different and have differing perspectives. Most will try to help, if you accept their help.

All I'm here for is help, like I said I know my stuff on morgans and American silver eagles,, I'm trying to diversify and not great at "eyeballing" an altered coin, so no I'm not a newbie, but yes I am a newbie lol

We are all "newbies" in some respects. The challenge is to recognize our own short comings and to take advantage of those to learn.

I have been collecting for only a handful of years. Thank God I have found some focus and direction or I would have gone crazy trying to satisfy that itch. I remember attempting to or thinking about buying raw examples of series I was unfamiliar with and realizing that it was very difficult to recognize what was a good purchase without proper context.

I did not go "postal".. I responded with you are the first one to say that it wasnt" then you went off with stevie wonder jokes and yada yada, so essentially you insulted everyone in this thread prior to your post,,,

Anyway thank you everyone.. including you wabbit, for all the great advice I will try to limit my posting from now on

SilverEagle420 - This is not a junk coin but a great coin, especially from a learning perspective because it brings into play so many issues when grading Mercury Dimes.
There are a lot of hits, especially on the obverse focal points which will affect the grade. There are not as many hits on the reverse but unfortunately, there is an old saying that in most instances, the reverse of a coin can only hurt but never help the final grade.
I agree that the coin shows a slight amount of wear so I do not believe it is mint state. While it is rare, there are examples of Mercury dimes that are not mint state but still have full bands.
Your close-up images are very good and after carefully looking, I think the mark on the center bands disqualify it from being full bands. Think of the space between the two bands as a river that you must navigate a boat along. If there are any blockages that prevent the boat to continue, it is not full bands.
Thank you for showing this coin.

From this picture it almost looks like the middle band has been tooled. Another pit fall you have to watch out for when buying raw Mercury Dimes that look like they are FB.

Buy the way your coin is not junk. Its just a decent circulated example.
