Help solving a grading debate

Myself and some friends of mine are having a debate on these 2 buffalo nickels as to there grade. Between the 5 of us our opinions on the grade range from au55-ms64. None of us can agree so we are asking for everyone's help as a tie breaker of sorts haha. None of us really specialize in buffalo nickels so theres that aspect of it as well. The 13 has amazing color thays very hard to capture.. please help 5 buddies solve there debate. Eventually they will get sent in to grade

I vote 64 on the 13-D and 62 on the 13 T2. Although there is something funky going on in the field that might detail the coin.

Not my series but always a fun debate. Photos are difficult to tell from though and this is not a series I am knowledgeable in. I toss out by WAG.

13-D= AU58. I think I am seeing some rub on the obverse.
    13-P= MS64.

    I’ll go with a pair of 58’s.

Tough to tell from the images, but both coins look like there is a slight rub on the bison's hip.

Buffalos are hard to grade from images. Both look at least Au55 though, probably higher.

Buffs are a hard series to grade, BUT when I see a good example I know it.
    I don't see a good example,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Nickel coins of all types are hard to grade. Nickel is a hard metal that causes die wear, weak strikes are common, and the change of color that goes along with friction wear is often not so obvious as gray nickel Unc's become gray nickel AU's w/little contrast.

I'm typing during the commercials so I shall return w/more. :)

Additionally, the difference between a "true" AU-55-58 and a MS coin depends on the knowledge of the grader, the magnification they use, and MOST OF ALL: Their own personal standard for MS. How much rub each allows on a coin before it becomes THEIR AU. :)

    TBC...

I felt AU for both before I scrolled down. I don't see a lot of mint luster. IMO. I like the toning. Peace Roy

No fair comparing 2 coins using different size images. IMO, the rim porosity is 98% due to some corrosion that was removed.

IMO, the first looks like an AU-58. That could be found in a 62 slab. The second has less loss of luster on the high points and could go 63 to 64.

So IMO, all five of you are correct except for the AU-55 guess.
