COIN A RAMA

The Ames Coin Club will be hosting its annual Coin A Rama coin show this weekend the 23rd and 24th. Sat 9-5 and Sun 9-3. Will be held at Gates Hall in Nevada, Iowa, just a short snowy icy 10 mile drive east of Ames. Buy, sell, trade. Lots of tables and quite a few dealers. Rumor has it that there might be some Morgans in those dealer cases.
We also have some special items for the young numismatists who brave the elements to be there. A big THANK YOU to those individuals, members and dealers who provided the coins and albums.
Come join us.

I will be there, curious to see who else will.
Report please.
4 wheel drive and chains was the theme of the show.
@BAJJERFAN You said there might be some "Morgans" in dealer showcases.
Can you elaborate, I'm nit familiar with them.
Any how a report would be nice.
As requested above, coin show reports are always appreciated and thoroughly read...even with mustard stains...
Cheers, RickO
Someone will file a report.
This report is written from the standpoint of someone who doesn't pay much attention or sometimes doesn't look very hard. Others attendees may have different experiences.
Met MorganMan94
Saw many Morgans slabbed and raw. Some nice toners too.
Lotsa gold and silver. Coins, bars, bullion, Saints, Libs, etc.
A couple regular dealers were absent.
Weather and travel issues caused a few others to miss the show.
Bought smoe girl scout cookies.
Lotsa raw coins of all types.
Morning attendance was decent, but not as robust as past shows from my recollection. Likely due to the weather.
No Gypsies were spotted.
Saw one doily, common Morgan, nice but not $200 nice. I'd guess the dealer bought the coin and was selling the holder. A dearth of older 2 piece holders of any kind from what I saw.
Some CAC stickers, but not a lot.
Not a Wisconsin commem in the place, much less the one I was looking for.
If you were on the lookout for graded early date circulated Walkers you were pretty much SOL. Nary a one to be found that I saw cept a 17-D obv in vf that wasn't worth asking to see.
Money and not the collectible kind was changing hands.
A number of youngsters showed up which was good to see.
Nasty weather with high winds predicted for tomorrow.
@BAJJERFAN nice to see you again.
And you as well.
