My 1938-D Buffalo Newp NGC 3.0

For whatever reason, I seem to be picking up a lot of 1938-D Buffalo nickels in interesting different holders. My greatest fear is that I may become obsessed with it. My most recent acquisition is this MS65 in an NGC 3.0 holder. I know this is a rather common holder.....but I like the look. What do you think? Comments appeeciated.

Looks very nice. NGC 3's are found more commonly than others but are often beat up and missing some or all of the rev embossing, congrats on the new addition.

Nice Buff... '38D's have a lot of quality survivors.... I have a few...I like the RPM's....Check closely for them, they are often unattributed on slabs I have seen - and own. Cheers, RickO
Cool coin and I love the holder!

50/50 it gets a gold CAC,
Common coin as well. As such, you are collecting plastic

Collecting 38-D Buffalo nickels by different old holder types/generations is a cool project in my book. David Hall, rattlers, PCGS two-piece holders/doilies and the various old NGC holders and alpha-numeric ANACS/ANA holders would be a neat little collection. I have a David Hall and a rattler and like them both.

A gorgeous gem and that holder is super clean.
Nice addition.
EVERYONE needs a 38-D buffalo! Well made, classic design, and dirt cheap!
Beautiful Buff!
Holder is not as common as you'd think.
Especially, without hologram damage.
Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

Yep, mine is in a rattler. Do not collect Buffs, but wanted one and found one cheap so, well as you said everyone needs one.
That is why I bought it.
