My gut is telling me they are both fake. If not I'd say AU on the Indian and a definite no grade on the Morgan.
There was clearly something removed above IGWT on the Morgan, probably the word COPY if I was to make a bet

I'm not a betting man, but if I was, I would put big money on the gold being fake after looking at the pics closer. It has the same look as fake $2 1/2 Indians.
They are both fake, really easy to tell in hand, they walked into the shop earlier and I told the customer.
I asked if he was ok with my taking a picture of them and he was fine with that. They are really easy in hand and especially under a loupe.
The $5 Indian isn't even real gold as a lot of them are. That's the reverse rotation shown in the second picture. It's a pretty pitiful fake. I didn't weigh it, I wish I did now but it was noticeably lightweight in hand.
I thought you all would enjoy seeing them. Sorry the picture isn't any better, I just shot them quickly with the phone...
Who removed COPY off that horrible Morgan??? Fake as heck.
Can't tell you about the gold except it look mushy in central area of obverse. Perhaps a fake, too?

Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
I wondered the same. The dealers in the area should be safe as these were very easy to detect in hand. Online is a different matter... I certainly hope they don't try to pass them off on anyone...

AU58 and MS63
and I like the both
Unc details cleaned for the 1914 (might be a fake), harshly cleaned, damaged VF details for the morgan (also possible fake?).

Collector, occasional seller
Definite clean job on the Morgan. Also leaning to a 'might be fake'. The Indian XF or AU. That's the best I can do.
I'll reveal in a little while. I saw them in hand a few minutes ago...

I mainly deal with $2 1/2's, but the $5 looks fake to me. No clue on the morgan.
Hard to tell from the pics
Don't like the knife edge on the rev of the gold. The Morgan....from these pics looks OK some damage above In God WE Trust on the rev of the CC

I don't like either one. Pass on both especially the Morgan.
I think that they are both counterfeits.
Maybe the CC stands for Canton, China?
What is the story with the person? Was he suckered, or trying to do that to you folks?
He claimed that they belonged to a "friend" and wanted to get them checked out... ugh huh..

I wonder if your 'customer' is still attempting to slip these back into the hobby somehow.

I grade 'em both as fake, rejected.
Both fake was my opinion.
Both are fake.
I graded them counterfeit as soon as I opened the thread

Morgan looks fake. Look at the blobiness of the stars, obviously cast. Date on the Indian looks odd to me and stars looks strange on it too.
