I will be there in spirit... at least once I read your excellent show report....
Thanks in advance... Cheers, RickO
I used to go all the time and even set up a table from time to time.
But I only went to that venue once - never again. Some dealers I know won't be there either.
The Charlotte Coin Club needs to find a better venue.

LOL! I'm sure the club is open to other venue options! There just aren't any unless ya want table fees like the ANA show. The next closest affordable option is where the NCNA is having their show....out in the boonies....nobody will come.
I have been doing shows at that venue since the late 90's...while it isn't great, I don't think it's that bad. It really sucks the metrolina venue was sold as the shows were working well there. Dot's show died when she moved to the NCNA's choice of venues also.
Oops
LOL - OK - say what you wish. I also liked Metrolina, but that isn't available any more - also loved setting up there.
I never said that they had to use an NCNA venue - you did. There are plenty of other shows to choose from.
I will never set up at Park Expo and other dealers are opting out too.
Shoot the messenger if you like - just telling you how I and others feel.
Next show for me is likely to be Dalton in April.

A show report please. I know you sell Barbers so let us know
how they are selling.
FWIW, in the context of the weak coin market in the area, the Charlotte shows are, IMHO, absolutely just fine. The issue is that the market here is very, very weak. The dealers all want way above fair market on the sell side, and yet they will only pay 60%-80% of current greysheet bid on the buy side - then everybody just sits there and looks at each other. "Where is the floor traffic? Where are the customers? Where are the deals?"
Please write a show report!

Why the animosity? There simply is no other place to have the show in the Charlotte area! Out of curiosity...what's your big beef with the venue?
If my schedule allows, I will try to go, all 3 days, and give a report.
I would be looking to sell/trade US currency - large size, buy/trade National banknotes, buy/trade select ancients, and buy/trade select world gold.
U.S. coins, I currently own zero, but I would be looking for quality at a fair market price - we shall see.
BTW, the last NCNA show, way out in N. Concord, NC,
I did just under $50k sell/trade/buy, out on the floor, so, you never know.
Back in the 80's the show was held at the Fair Grounds. I went to
two Winter ANA's somewhere downtown. Both locations were fine.
My only complaint about the venue is the traffic on Independence. There are ways to avoid it though. To be honest it's no worse than any other show I do in major cities and is not nearly as expensive.
I will be set up there and will swing by and say hi!
