Not everyones cup of tea yet I personally have always liked this original, unmolested specked type toning on what seems to be on these 30's and 40's Washington quarters and Walking Liberty half dollars. (Sometimes seen too on Mercury dimes and Peace dollars along with some Commemorative halves from this era.)
Coincidently, I have been contemplating this coin. I really like toning but I'm not sure if this one pulls my trigger. I need this coin for my set and MS65+ is in my range.

Unmolested and lovely.
Put me in the 'like it' column.

Ugly toning. Poor eye-appeal.
+1
Not a fan of the look of this coin, imho
Sweet !!!
OUCH!
That looks more like organic residue than tarnish....It has the 'aged mustard' look....Definitely not appealing to me... Cheers, RickO
Really nice 1932-D quarter. A highly desirable key date.
I have never owned a 32-d or s. This may motivate me finally get them.

Sorry wrong forum:(
I understand how folks might not like this coin, but to me it looks fine with quite distinctive, though not completely unusual, surfaces.
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
nice grade and nice coin. I do not like the toning though, jmo
I knew this would be a polarizing piece due to the eclectic tastes of the various connoisseurs here.
