I honestly think they're just going to wait till the offseason. They really don't have any incentive to deal him now other than it gives the Lakers a chance to scoop him up before Boston can get involved. Shutting down trade talks could just mean postponing them.
I'v been reading some weird Celtics related stuff too,Kyrie was out tonight and will be out friday with a mystery Hip strain that came out of nowhere. Fans on another site are predicting that he's sitting these games out for a deal like this:
LA gets: Kyrie
Boston gets: Davis
Pelicans get: Kuzma,Ball,Zubac,Caldwell-Pope + some of Boston picks,maybe a Celtics player too

I'd like to see Boston keep Kyrie but would take AD over him all day.

The report I read said Magic gave the NO's GM five different trade offers so it might not come down to all of them going.

I wonder how much of what the Lakers are doing before the trade deadline regarding Anthony Davis is derived from:

            "LeBron James and "his camp" insisting that the Lakers do something "now" before the trade deadline to 
            revamp/retool the Lakers roster in order to have a team that can give LeBron a good chance of winning the 
            Western Conference Title this year and progressing to yet another NBA Finals (where his team will not have 
            to face the prospect of playing the Warriors again for the title)".

LeBron was likely the driving force behind Cleveland revamping its roster before the trade deadline last year. This resulted in the Cavs and the King making it back to the Finals (to be swept by the Warriors).

LeBron is so driven and (IMHO) consumed by his creating his a Legacy of him being the GOAT of all NBA GOATs, that it would not surprise me to learn that he desperately wants a revamped team with AD on the roster (and with Luke Walton replaced with a new coach) so that he can:

1 - beat the Warriors in a Western Conference playoff series (perhaps the opening round); and

2 - get back to the NBA Finals and win another title.

What would be very interesting to see would be the 2018-2019 Lakers (as they currently are; or with a revamped roster including AD) fail to make the Western Conference playoffs this year.

Perhaps have the final Laker game of the season be a must win for them to land the #8 seed in the playoffs and see them lose on a last second shot by the opposing team in double overtime.

The Knicks just traded Kristaps Porzingis,Tim Hardaway Jr & Courtney Lee to the Mavericks for Dennis Smith Jr,Deandre Jordan & Wes Matthews and two first round picks.
Doncic & Porzingis could be a great duo if Porzingis finally gets healthy.

This sounds like a guy that isn't fully committed to signing longterm in Boston. My interpretation of that is if we keep down this same path we're on I'm out of here. If that is really true then I hope the Lakers & Pelicans agree on a deal before the deadline next week so Ainge doesn't get the chance to make a godfather offer in the summer for a rental. With Kyrie sitting on the fence regarding his future in Boston I'd start taking offers on him too. I'd rather see Ainge get a return for a Kyrie rather chance losing him for nothing.

Maybe the Lakers will toss in Luke Walton into the trade package, since it appears that King James's "camp" has indicated that a coaching change needs to be made.

I wonder who King James will approve of as a replacement for Luke Walton.

I also wonder if Lonzo Ball's father will start talking and promoting his sons and himself as soon at Lonzo sets foot in the Big Easy (it has actually been refreshing to have LaVar Ball to be on a sabbatical so far this season).

If the Lakers can't get this deal done in the next few days then I doubt they can get it done in the offseason because Rondo,Stephenson and Beasley all have contracts expiring on July 1st. Magic may have to include Hart,Zubac and/or Caldwell-Pope(no-trade clause) instead.
I'm at the point where I just want to see LA go the Herschel Walker route here by giving up everything not named Lebron.
