Hello all! Can anyone shed some light on what caused this nickel to be in this condition??

I believe that it is a 1943 P nickel, many theories have gone through my head but has anyone actually seen one like this?? Very smooth and liquidy looking. Details all but gone. Help please.

It got stuck in a washing machine.
The coin is damaged.
@endzeit.... Welcome aboard....A post mint damaged coin...Likely, as @ErrorsOnCoins said, stuck in a washing machine or dryer....Cheers, RickO
But what about that gold?
I love the gold coins also, I think that error coins are very interesting, Morgans, Peaces and ,,well, damn I love them all.
What about it?

Hold it by the edges if you must touch it.
BAIT
The nickel was subjected to extreme, probably mechanical, abrasion after it left the mint. It has no numismatic value.
Interesting but 1943 P nickels are supposed to have a large P over the building on the reverse. Might recheck your date?
