  One of those cases where they had 5 or 6 similar pieces, all with estimates not much higher than melt.

  All of them sat there for a week with no interest and no bids--except for the one I bid on, which I subsequently lost. So I bid on a couple of the others. But they were just too girl-next-door compared to this bad, bad girl. When I lost those I think I actually breathed a sigh of relief.

  I decided to watch the live auction and threw in a cut bid at the last second and won her. But man. I had to pay way higher than the "melt+" I wanted to pay.

  I like the non-prong holder, too. I think this is an example where the white surrounding actually compliments the orange color.

  Also shows it's a stable piece. That's an NGC generation 7, which was only used from 1997 until 2000. So it has looked that nasty and funky for 20 years give or take
