FUN show

Better late than never.
My son and I flew to Florida to the coin show. My mission was to turn over my entire collection to PCGS and NGC for reholdering, I’m hoping. I can not say enough about both companies stepping up to help me with my lifetime collection. I feel honored just to say the least. I was lucky enough to meet Heather, Joe and David. I can not say enough about these great folks, they are the greatest in my book. When I get my collection back I have a little surprise to share with this forum.
This forum and the great folks here have been Angels to me. We can not thank you all for the well wishes and prayers sent. The gofundme was such a great gift that has helped us over the hump during the worst of the tragedy. It will NEVER be forgotten.
So, at the FUN show I was able to meet and hang out with my good friends, Dimeman, Lance and of course Todd and my mentor, Andy from, Angel Dee’s. It was so nice to meet up with you guys. I have some pics of the group that I briefly got to hang out with I’ll share at another time. My son and I were dead tired and had to go back to our room for a good sleep that we do desperately needed.
But for now I would like to share with you is probably the most beautiful 1920 buffalo nickel I’ve ever laid my eyes on, so I had to add it to my collection, or what’s left of it. This is the very first purchase I’ve made since the fire. I purchased this piece from my good friend, Andy at “Angel Dee’s”. I can’t tell you how happy it was to finally see, Andy and his lovely wife. They have got to be the sweetest good folks this hobby has to offer, I love them both. I’ve got to say after walking the floor at one of the largest coins shows you can attend that Andy does, without question, has thee most beautiful and stunning buffalo nickels on the planet and I’ll stand by that statement firmly. I can not tell you all how much fun my son and I had and everyone was so nice to us. Parking at the show was 10 bucks, depending on where you park and the walk to the show from the lot was enough for me to call it a day. It was brutal to say the least. After that day we took a cab😂.
My camera setup burned in the fire so I am shopping for a new copystand and a new safe. My good friend, Todd, is holding the coins that I could run out the door with until I can find another secure place or until I can find another fire proof safe. So with that said I located my friend Todd at the show to image up the 1920 buffalo nickel for me. I’ve got to say he blew the true view pic outta the water with his amazing skills around a camera. Thank you my friend for such an amazing job picking up this coin in it’s true light😊. Just an amazing job.
Again I owe this forum, PCGS & NGC so much for the help with this horrible destructive fire. I can not say thank you all enough.
So, here’s that 1920 Buff I’ve been raving about. Todd is great with that camera too. I can’t say that enough. I am totally impressed.
Happy hunting, Joe

Maybe next time you drive south you should just come get a copy stand. I have a stash of Benchers. The good news is to get to them we have to move the vette out of the garage, which means a reason for a cruise.

I’ve located a stand, finally, but I might need some other accessories. Thanks I’d for sure like to see what’s back there. I’m partial to the MP4 Polaroid stand because of its rigidity to support camera a heavy lenses without it bouncing around. Besides that it’s what I lost in the fire and what I’ve been using.
The cruise is definitely a hot idea and you can count me in buddy😊😊

    Joe.

I am glad you and your son were able to go to FUN and have some "fun". It is great that you have a new purchase. It looks devine.

Maybe we can meet and greet at an upcoming show in Sacramento. That would be about the half way point from where we live.

Looking forward to hearing the results of PCGS and NGC attempting to reholder some of your coins that were caught up in the fire.

Here is to a good 2019.

Man that 1920 is awesome! It would have been easy to get discouraged seeing all your coins like that and stop collecting, but I am glad you didn't.

Beautiful Buffalo Joe. When you showed it to me at the show I thought to myself, HE'S BACK! I stopped at Angel Dee's table while you and Joey were at the luncheon and you're right, he has some of the nicest coins I've ever seen, I believe I even said something to that affect to him.

My fingers are crossed that your coins came back to you from our gracious host in good health. You're an inspiration my friend and a great outcome for your awesome collection is the very least you deserve.

I’m sorry I missed you there my man. You were on my list of good people I wanted to meet but I was so tired from the trip and the kack if sleep caught up with my son and I both. We had no choice but to go back to our place and go to sleep.
Next time for sure and I’ll buy us all a round of drinks.
