7 sold.....
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
$20.79 for a counterfeit iron ASE. You can buy a genuine ASE right now for under $19. That's too funny.
And the photo they are using must have come from the mint's site. That is not a photo of one of their counterfeits.
WONDER WHAT THE RETURN RATE WILL BE?

reported. counterfeit copy coin.
Aside from using a pic of an actual ASE the violation is: Copy coin listed in coin category. Violates ebay coin policy.
Had the seller not identified it as "iron material," there would be no listing violation but we all know that a Chinese fake will be received by the buyers.
We care because it will eventually be resold on ebay as an authentic ASE.
"A car is a tool that takes you from one place to another. Everything beyond that is a payment for other people's perception of you."
At least they are somewhat honest about being made of "sturdy iron" further down in the listing. However the title states ".999 Silver". Which is it? Do we really care?
Love that seller's name ... "i.best_seller"

Do you mean outside of normal ebay report item?
I care because the buyer may not admit it is counterfeit and then sell it to some unsuspecting buyer trying to become interested in our hobby. Ebay does nothing to punish these rip-off artists, giving them enough to maintain a profit and thus promote copying all US coins.
To be sure, this will be removed by tomorrow. Anyone can PM me with counterfeit listings on ebay.

Ebay depends on its users to help police the marketplace. When a valid violation is pointed out to them they are normally good about taking action.
report using normal ebay reporting link. counterfeit, remarks: copy coin listed in coin category, violates ebay coin policy
"A car is a tool that takes you from one place to another. Everything beyond that is a payment for other people's perception of you."
Feedback is awful.
So is their product.
Thank you.
I have reported blatant counterfeits through normal "report item" function on ebay only to watch them sell out days later.
It was this exact issue that drove me to join numismatic forums. I was fortunate enough to find friends that care as much (actually even more) as I do, who have the ability to get these abominations removed in a timely manner.
Ebay does not care about US federal law. The Hobby protection Act and The Collectible Coin Protection Act in particular.
If they did, they would not allow violators to continue after removing dozens of listings in over a one year period.
The FTC does nothing when a US based violator is reported to them. Same with secret service or FBI.
I would like very much to open a discussion about the fact that Every single group that should be stopping this is sitting on their thumbs ANA included. With the possible exception of a group of collectors that love our hobby enough to dedicate their own personal time doing the work that others are just too lazy to do their own jobs. (The only other reasonable justification for this to continue would be some grand conspiracy.)

When I see a low feedback seller, such as this guy, I report the auction as fraud. It's intentional and thus it's fraud.

Let's try an experiment. Only @AUandAG report this listing, OK? It states it is counterfeit. So let us see how long it takes to be removed. This will maybe give an indication of ebay's complacency.

Yikes !!!
When I see a numismatic item being sold from China, I pretty much know it's intentional and a fraud.....

the more people that report an item as counterfeit, the better the odds ebay will take them serious.
"A car is a tool that takes you from one place to another. Everything beyond that is a payment for other people's perception of you."
It;s not a question of anyone's professional or armature opinion if a ASE is listed like this:
"Country/Region of Manufacture: Vietnam"
I can not see a justifiable reason that this shouldn't be removed with just one report. If it was a 16 Merc. with an added "D" I could understand.

Reported. Premium iron would be steel wouldn't it?
Paper money eventually returns to its intrinsic value. Zero. Voltaire. Ebay coinbowlllc
Oh my God! This proves the fact that a lot of armature coin collectors and numismatists are buying fake coins like these at such high rates... good for the seller... the fact that anyone and everyone can host coins on eBay, makes the site unreliable
Doesn't everyone buy their ASE's from eBay sellers located in China?

The listing is gone now... did anyone grab a screenshot?? Cheers, RickO
Screenshot would do no good. He was using a US Mint rendition.
bob
@AUandAG .... Thanks, I went back and saw that mentioned.... Cheers, RickO
