Who was the most exciting player(s) you ever watched ?

What I mean be "exciting" was that you got excited, or really entertained watching this player. When you watched this athlete compete, you had moments where you just said, "Wow!", or you couldn't turn off the TV because you enjoyed watching this person so much. I guess it's fair to say that this "most exciting" player was probably enjoyed during their prime, as the beginning and end of their career probably had less exciting moments.
I'd also add that we leave out any professional wrestlers or people like Evel Knievel. Just real athletes who played real sports. Even though I guess motor cross and guys like Knievel could be considered athletes if
you want.
My top 3...........
- Mark Fidrych (1977 season only)
- Mario Lemieux
- Secretariat

Patrick Mahomes - All he did was throw for over 5,000 yards and 50 TD's.
Only Peyton Manning has done that. But Mahomes is 23 and this was
his first year as starting QB. He could lay waste to the record books.
If he had thrown as many passes as Rothlisberger did this year,
he would have thrown for 5,900+ yards based on his avg. yards per attempt. So he has
the ability to throw for 6,000 yards in a season.
I've seen many, but my #1 would have to be Magic Johnson. Freak of nature.
Dave
Tom Brady
Willie Mays
Reggie Jackson in that World Series game in which he hit three homers.
George Bretts' run at .400
Still remember the excitement in Denny Matthews' and Fred Whites' voices when George was red hot
in August and pushed his average to something like .408
That's one reason why its so annoying to have to listen to Dallas and Craig constantly preaching that
batting average isn't important. Too bad they've never had the chance to follow anyone game by game
that has made a run like that.
Danny Manning at KU.
Manning and his Jayhawks weren't supposed to be able to run with Oklahoma in the 1988 Championship game.
Yet here it was, tied 50-50 at halftime, Manning almost single handedly keeping Kansas in it. In the second half KU
prevailed, led by a scintillating performance from one of the greatest Jayhawks ever to don the uniform, one of
the most exciting college basketball players of all time, the legend of Lawrence, Danny Manning.

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
Barry Sanders
Hakeem the dream
Dan marino
Ken griffey jr.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
I can't believe nobody has mentioned Ali. When he came and took the title back by knocking out George Forman who had been bashing everybody he faced. As big a fan of Ali as I was I was shocked that he pulled it off.
Others would be:
Michael Jordan
Jack Nicklas
Reggie Jackson
Willie Mays
Emmitt Smith and the whole Cowboys team of the mid 90's.
Pete Rose
Saquon Barkley
During the prime of his college career.

Bobby Orr
For me, too many in pro sports to mention or choose. However for the individual top sports athletes for excitement, I like the Olympic games, particularly track and field races. Very exciting considering it is only once every four years, and for a number of the runners it is a one time chance.
Mentioning golf and exciting in the same sentence? zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Maybe Arnold Palmer making one of his famous "charges"!
Exactly why I put Tiger in there. He literally changed the dynamic and made it watchable. I never watched it much before Tiger and stopped watching it altogether when he wasn’t playing

I wasn't thinking about olympics because I have soured on that whole thing what with the vile corruption surrounding that. Somehow as a kid I was under the impression that it was real.
If we are going to talk Olympics though Franz Klammer or Herman Meier , Alberto Tomba .
Or how about Katja Seizinger in Nagano ? The entire german women's team that year was amazing
Foreigners you all might have missed , since US tv coverage likes to focus on some guy that came in 143rd who has a dyslexic brother in law
Bo Jackson.
MJ.
I hear ya, but overall I still like the events mentioned.
I think also because it's truly a worldwide competition.
Usain Bolt was mentioned. Tough not to like seeing that guy run.
how could i forget Bo? for a few years he was electric. one game with 2 90 plus yard runs.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

"I spent 50% of my money on alcohol, women, and gambling. The other half I wasted.
Joaquin Andujar
Nolan Ryan
Ole "Walk'em in handlebars" I love it when he got so made he punched the fan in the dugout injuring his hand and had to leave the game!

That's what was so great about watching Andujar. He was exciting whether he was on the mound, in the dugout, or (especially) at the plate. If you look at his stats he looks average - OPS+ of 99, W/L % of .518 - but he hardly ever pitched an "average" game. He alternated between great and terrible mostly depending on his mood that day.
Jack - I grew to love this man because my dad loved him so much.
Tiger - I never missed an event he was in
