I don't follow the series. Are you surprised to the upside or to the downside.

Early Dollar auctions I was following were pretty soft.

I believe that the 1926-S with FB is a or the key to the series!

I don’t think Dimeman plays in that end of the pool.

The 35-s at $90,000. For that money I could own, fill in your preference.

1796 or 97 half is my answer

To me CRAZY money for bragging rights. Some of my favorite coins are graded lower than the same coin in my Registry set. These coins sold for Registry bragging rights which seems to have a very direct connection to establishing the identity of the set owner.

FB sure but $90,000 for a '35-S with an arbitrary number assignment?

Fairlaneman, the prices you list in the OP have no meaning to most readers on these boards without context. What should they go for based on previous auction records and sales vs. what they went for? Love to hear your analysis of these prices given my lack of knowledge on high end mercs.....

No sense can be made of this market. Only truth is my coins lose value every time I look. So just enjoy your collection and pay no attention to the man behind the curtain !

@fiftysevener That reference to 'The Wizard of Oz' is very very apt.

Looks like the coin market is very strong and doing well. Good prices to match the good crowds.

What should they go for? I do not think there is any real answer for the question. When you get more than 1 person that wants a coin that is being auctioned it looks like the sky is the limit.
    .
Here are the PCGS price guide prices before this auction. PCGS has already adjusted the prices for the coins after the auction.
