It sold for $3.3M about when the 1913 nickel sold for $5M. Nickel just sold for $4.6M...there’s an iteration result awaiting some math wizard
I'm betting you win it for $2.7 all in.
I’m not bidding

No Problem....It will sell for $3,036,000 by your logic.

TDN. You still think it will crossover to PCGS PR65+CAM?

$2.4 seems about right although with the way the rest of the economy is going could be lower 19 days from now. Lotta dreck out there.
The whole worlds off its rocker, buy Gold™.
I've always been surprised there is as much enthusiasm for that Trade Dollar as there is. It has always struck me as just another 19th century made-for-collector piece. Have potential high bidders been stung by the current stock market downturn? Perhaps some high-end dealers know but I sure don't.
Me neither! 😉

All of my collection is in a safe deposit box!
I really do not think you will too many bidding wars on coins above $500G at FUN-no matter how rare they are-unless the stock market rockets up.
Even in a depressed market a $1 million bid on that coin is pure bottom feeding. Its like bidding $1.2 million on the 1913 5C we just bought
That I know for a fact
I'll take it for $1.2 Million. PM me the wire info.
Yawn. I'm a condition guy, not a rarity guy. Never understood the fascination with the 84 and 85 TD.
It is a must have for a lot of collections. Only 5 available, makes the demand high. Not complicated.

The take home price is now $2.5m with 7 days to go. It appear the prediction here is between 2.7m and 3m. Is everybody sticking with that prediction?

3.5m is my guess - including juice

I would try to determine how strong the hands are of the four other specimens. Then I would decide how aggressive I would need to be in order to get the coin. Probably $3.5 would do it, but what’s an extra few hundred thousand to spend if you are on a mission and you have the means to come very close to attaining it.
Even with the new standards and folks running the place?
I'd bid, just for the fun of losing
BHNC #203
I’m going with 3.5 million total

I think we just found our replacement for the disagree button.. the wide-eyed emoji of the surprised button!
Heck, Col. E.H.R. Green had two 1885 Trade Dollars and four 1884 Trade Dollars. How rare can they be?!!!
Just kidding, of course (but he did have these six examples).

seems like this coin is already higher than many predictions
it's at 3.5m now. my prediction was 3.5m. getting close.

I'm seeing 3.3m now (with buyer's premium); is that what you meant to write?

All the bidding was early for the 1913
Just placed a bid.
Do you think they will figure out that the credit card # I gave them is just a prepaid Visa with only about $40 bucks left on it?
I can state for a fact-the bidding has NOT even begun....Just watch.
I think we might have a bidding war this could be a 5 million dollar coin

Congrats to Del. But I’m very very sad to see the 84&85 part ways again. They should be together

I’m a little disappointed

There is a BETTER one out there. I have seen it. I wish my other guy had called me earlier. He would have owned both the 84+85. Legend had 3 real bidders!
