With 3 golf courses and adjacent to the uninhabited desert we get coyotes often....in the yard, on the streets, etc. I've found that they much prefer the imported Norwegian rats than the local cottontail rabbits. Seems they are much more tasty or better protein.....don't know, but would rather them eat the rats than the bunnies. They do keep the bunny population in check, though, as they are easier to catch it seems.

The first U.S. military unit to have African-American officers...the Confederate Louisana Native Guards (1862).
Were they a part of a U.S. military unit or a C.S.A. military unit?

Not sure, Just a factoid I read. If Butler had taken over New Orleans at that point I would think US unit and Confederate in name only. 1862, however likely Confederate, but just a home guard type unit. I need to look further.
The phantom two feet
Mount Everest has traditionally been listed as 29,002 feet high. The original measurement was actually 29,000 feet on the button but two feet were added so people wouldn't assume the measurement was an approximation.

A Nickel Wasn’t Always a Nickel—Or Made of Nickel
We’ve always had the dime, but original 5-cent coins were called half-dimes and were made of silver. The small, thin coins were hard to use and easily counterfeited, and were replaced by a copper-nickel coin in 1873.

It was a Confederate unit.

Clemson handed Saban his worst loss last night....most recently was a 14 point loss to Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl in 2014.
