Silver for the new year

It's often to cold to be out swinging the coil around in Pennsylvania this time of year but mother nature has given us a very mild winter thus far and I was able to capitalize. Not my most significant find but certainly appreciated.

Like the old Datsun commercials.... Someday---------. Nice find, congrats!

Oh how I LOVE this hobby!

Freedom isn't free, we must protect it. Many Thanks to all those in the U.S. Military and Law Enforcement, past and present, for taking lead in that fight.

Current equipment: Whites DFX 300; Tesoro Tiger Shark; Minelab CTX 3030.
Pin-ponters: Garrett Propointer AT; Minelab Pro Find 35

  • Got out for about an hour right after work and was able to rescue a couple more pieces for the treasure box. None of the finds were deeper than 3 inches.
    Matron head (can't determine date)
2 flat buttons, one says "W. Wallis treble gilt"
And a piece of native american pottery

Great finds. Trying to capitalize on some mild weather in NJ as well, but it is starting to get cold...just as my desire to detect is heating up!

That SLQ is a great find.... the subsequent finds are interesting as well... I sure do like the look of silver as it comes out of the ground. I would like gold I am sure, but have not found a gold coin in the dirt yet.... ;) Cheers, RickO

Standing Liberty Quarter! Now that is a great find. Since I'm just starting out in this great hobby, I've only found a Mercury dime. But I have my sights on completing a silver type set (3c, 5c, 10c, 25c, 50c, $1) from ground finds.
    Congrats!
