A tell tale sign of mechanical doubling is that the doubling is "flat, shelf-like".

I know what your dime looks like to me, but what does it look like to you in person?

In person, it doesn’t look flat at all. I believe I’ve found the same dime, yr and what not, that has an actual machine double, and compared the two. The ones on my dime definitely stick out, not flat like the other one. I’ll post pictures of the, hopefully they help they help figure out weather or not it’s an actual dd.

Flat and shelf-like is usually mechanical doubling.

14th post in this thread is a good reference between a doubled die (DD) and mechanical doubling from Coneca. https://forums.collectors.com/discussion/1006619/sticky-this-book-index-books-to-read-on-numismatic-series-and-varieties

Did you read the other responses? The doubling is mechanical doubling, not a doubled die....

Take note of these members valued input. They are certainly correct. Practice makes perfect. You gotta learn both sides of the spectrum before you can tell the difference. Good eye though

Md for sure, strong md but nd comes in varying degrees. Time to refer to all the great error sites we have been mentioning. The hunt continues. Peace Roy
