I got the Cherry Pickers Guide for Christmas

I got the Cherry Pickers Guide for Christmas [actually gave it to myself] :smile:

Where should I start, what is a logical coin to start with?
Any advice from the pros here? :smile:

    I'd start with the parking lot DDO & DDR's ...........OK OK :smiley: Just kidding, seriously start with what ya have on hand and give it extra attention, I remember I started with Bicentennial Quarters I had when I got my first CPG and I found one in my stash, easily paid for the book 6 X's over. Happy Hunting

    Darn it though, I cashed in all of my Bicentennial quarters last year, that would have been a great place to start. :smile:

    The ability to cherrypick in your favorite series certainly seems it adds much to the hobby.

    I keep a mental list of the CPG varieties I look for, and run that list when I go to shows. I look at all series. One fun thing I used to do was buy bags of 'unsearched' wheat cents and search them for Cherrypicker's Guide varieties. I've been successful- almost every bag gave up at least a '41 DDO, '17 DDO, or 1944-D/S.

    I have yet to find one of those and I have looked at quintillions of them.

    The gift that keeps on giving. Look at the book over and over it will click and then you will have it locked in you will need to go back from time to time but you will be informed.

    The CPG is a great resource, I use mine frequently. I intend to go through some of my old albums and see if any treasures lie within... some snowy winter day... ;) Good luck with your search. Cheers, RickO
