The only book I have is the 2019 Red book I am waiting for the cherrypicked just started two months before I have never look at a coin but too bay coffee
Your cent appears to have machine doubling... there are no split serifs...and if you compare it to the examples in the link above, you will see the difference. While waiting for your CPG, there are many resources on line... look for the definition of a doubled die as well. Cheers, RickO
To me, the doubling is most distinctive (as a PUP- pick up point), in the O of ONE. Also there is a fairly decent spread in "E Pluribus Unum" .
Here is a screen shot from Coin Facts.
I agree with Ricko- machine doubling. Remember, all examples of a given variety were struck by the same die. Therefore, they will all look the same, so if the coin you have doesn't exactly match the photo in the variety reference you're using (Variety Vista, Coppercoins.com, the Cherrypicker's Guide, etc.), it isn't the variety you think it is.

The 1983 DDR is very clear. You will not need any expert advice. If you have doubts, the answer is no. Did you compare photos on CoinFacts with yours?
Next step... which variety?

Merry Christmas to all and have a happy and fun new coin year
I agree, when you find one you will not need expert advice. When I found this a couple of years back, I jumped for joy! Later graded, PCGS MS64RD.
