Copper 4 the Holiday Week

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, everyone!
Post your coppers for whole holiday week...
John Matthew's Soda Apparatus, 1863 PCGS MS63
Matthews was the father of the modern day soda fountain. His business at 437 First Ave in New York City issued this storecard during the Civil War featuring a woman's head with a peculiar fish swimming in front of her face. Unusual, but not as weird as the company's logo... which was a cherub fighting off a bear with a monkey wrench (all to protect his soda!)

Copper is a favorite subject of mine.

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
One of my favorite store cards. Thrashing machine always sounded cool to me.
I’ve wanted several different Canadian tokens for many years and never could find them

with a fair amount of red and better grade. One night I was very lucky to with both of these and was able to check
off my list of Canadian coppers now I only need 2 others.
