Is there someone running around the mint with a ball of twine?

I got these two in the last few days. I love unscrambling ebay images .....
This one I just had graded this year .....

Given the date range 'they' must have been running very, very slowly....
These errors result from press operators opening packages of Christmas cookies from their Dear Aunt Mildred.
If someone was running through the mint with a ball of twine, and bits of it ended up mucking up presses, that means that someone else was chasing them, running with a scissors.

Thanks for sharing these as I've never seen that error before.
Is this a rare occurence?
Yes rare and even rarer to get it on the label

I assume that back in the day when coins were shipped in canvas bags loose threads were everywhere.
Not sure where they would come from today. I assume that the large "bags" used today are made of some sort of nylon or synthetic cloth - maybe they still shed some threads?
Maybe the press operator tied a string around his finger to remind himself to keep the press clear of debris.

The posted images are my images.
Many, many times I will take a seller's bad photos and bring them into Photoshop where I can do things to the files to decipher what's going on in a particular coin.
Thanks for the explanation

I call my mom to tell her I am running with scissors with the points up, leaving lights on, sitting too close to the TV, without changing my clothes for 2 days or flossing, while eating cake for breakfast in the living room with the refrigerator door open.
I am up to a 2:13 minute sssssiiiiigggghhhhhhh
Obviously less with plastic
My guess is the mint is dirtier than it should be. I mean the tops of surfaces up to the ceiling. Or there's mice!

Struck through's are always interesting... especially if the debris is retained - such as wood or nails or wire brush pieces....I have not seen any retained thread. Cheers, RickO
@ErrorsOnCoins Wow... Thank you very much....Very interesting. Cheers, RickO
I just hope it is thread
That's an "impressive" comment.
I suppose then that the ones they don't like are "Impressed" into to coin?
Makes sense to me............................
