Cool semi-coin related Christmas gift

From a friend of my wife who found in in her late husband's effects and thought I would appreciate it. I do. Early Merry Xmas-Happy Holidays to all. Tokens were manufactured by Scovill Co. in Waterbury, CT in the early 20th century. CRL on the dispenser stands for Connecticut Railway and Lighting, which operated buses in the city through the 1970s.
Proud recipient of the coveted "You Suck Award" (9/3/10).

Very unique and thoughtful gift.
Thanks for sharing!
I like it! And happy holidays to you, too!
Just found this info online.
From Atwood's Catalogue of US & Canadian Transportation Tokens: "Connecticut Company, owned by the New Haven RR, was incorporated in 1905 to operate street railways in this state. Until 1936 it also operated lines owned by C. R. & L. Co. It first issued tokens November 1, 1919, and operated lines in Bridgeport, Hartford, Meriden, Middletown, New London, Norwald, and Waterbury, as well as in New Haven. The last streetcar operated in New Haven on September 25, 1948.
Nice early Christmas gift. Hoping to get a coin related gift as well.
Happy and safe holidays to you as well!
Very cool!

Very cool. Reminds me of the NY subway tokens of 1950.
Still have a few.
Yep... since tokens represented cash, it falls under exonumia.... Cheers, RickO
I lived in NYC from 1999-2006. It is where I met my wife and had my first child. I truly regret not saving any of the tokens which were still being used (but about to be gone) when I moved there.
