Kinda OT: Turning coinage into weaponry...

Got 18 minutes to kill?
Guy melts cents down for a sword.
Now I want one.

I hope they ate the watermelon.
That is cool! Only about $5.
Looked like he had some type electronics in the background when chopping the watermelon. He will be finding sticky spots for awhile. LOL
Interesting project.... I am a fan of good knives... but they would have to be steel...Good decorative piece though. Cheers, RickO
I thought it was illegal to melt down cents.

I read that professional gun slingers in the old west would sometimes load a stack of 10 or 12 dimes into 12 ga. shotgun shells resulting in a scatter gun load that is particularly deadly at close range.

Nice bronze knife but he is making video evidence of himself committing a federal crime. Not too smart.
Interesting watch. Law allows alterations of cents for jewelry, art, etc as long as not sold for profit was my take away. Thanks for posting.
I am pretty sure that is only if you apply for a license in advance. A small quantity I believe is allowed, but I believe this exceeds that amount. Furthermore, I believe the law specifically mentions melting as being illegal, whereas elongated cents are allowed, as an example.
I started the process to apply for a license just to say I'd done it. I think I'll pick that up again and see how it goes.
