Just like any place else you have to sift through the dreck to find the diamonds in the rough.

Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

Not at all. If a buy something rather it be a coin, shirt, Ipad, whatever it may be there is a 100% chance that is going to show up or I am going to get my money back.

If you swallow way too much hopium, your personal judgement can easily become impaired.

But that is generally not the fault of the sales venue.

I don't think it's a gamble for me. They have return policies and PayPal protection !!! :)

Better than the auction house because you can return anything you don’t like.

As a seller, yes. (Auctions especially.)
As a buyer, not so much.

It is a gamble when you are a seller with 0.01¢-0.99¢ Start prices.

Bought an accounting ledger on Ebay and it arrived in an Amazon envelope. If I wanted to buy it on Amazon I would have done so.

    World is getting strange.

In small electronics, there are many eBay sellers who have no inventory.

If you order from them, they have a third party send you the stuff. You pay them, they pay the party with the inventory, and presumably there is money left over for the seller.

Kinda what APMEX is doing on many items.

As a buyer, how much time will you spend to find the cheapest deal?

Ordered a box of 100 paper clips on Ebay once for a buck. Arrived in a shoeboxed size carton from Costco. Not sure how they all split up the bounty.

Presumably your order was one of many for the seller. They look at the whole elephant, not just a single toenail. And some sellers/resellers don't make it.

Sending coins into PCGS for grading is much more of a gamble😀

    No, not with buyer protection

They could open an online poker site.... That would be cool... ;) There used to be a few of those... then the government got involved and closed them down...now they are back in a limited fashion. I have not played the new one's....Could make some money on the old sites. Cheers, RickO

@ErrorsOnCoins .... Totally true ... Dolly Brunson himself said he could probably win in most poker games without cards....His book is a great read....Definitely a skill based game. Cheers, RickO
